Sanitary Registration of Food and Beverage Products in El Salvador
Requirements to begin the registration and/or renewal process for food and beverage products:
- SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY for Sanitary Registrations, according to the provided template. Which must be notarized, authenticated by the Salvadoran consulate in the country of origin, or legalized by apostille.Certificate of Free Sale (original, valid, and authenticated by the Salvadoran consulate in the country of origin or legalized by apostille).Qualitative and quantitative formula in descending order, signed and sealed by the responsible professional.
Distribution authorization document.
Samples of the product to be registered: 6 samples of solid foods, at least 200 grams each, and 4 samples of liquids, at least 200 milliliters each.
Original labels or drafts. In cases where the original label is not in Spanish, a supplementary label must be attached.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DISTRIBUTOR (IN EL SALVADOR)
Original Tax Identification Number (NIT) of the Importing and/or Distributing Company and NIT of the Company's Legal Representative (from El Salvador)
Valid Warehouse Operating License (of the importer/distributor)
Our fee for Food Registration is USD 445.00, plus official rates.
Professional Fees USD 300 Expenses and Registration Fee USD 145 Total to be paid by product USD 445 REQUIREMENTS AND FEES FOR RECOGNITION OF FOOD SANITARY REGISTRATIONS FOR MEMBER COUNTRIES OF THE CUSTOMS UNION.
The requirements for obtaining recognition in El Salvador of sanitary registrations for food/beverages manufactured in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala are as follows:
- SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY for Sanitary Registrations, according to the provided template. Which must be notarized, authenticated by the Salvadoran consulate in the country of origin, or legalized by apostille.
- Certificate of Free Sale in original and photocopy, in the unified format for the Customs Union, issued by the Ministry of Health of the member states of the Customs Union.
- Distribution authorization document.
NOTE:Foods and beverages categorized as risk B and C will not require quality control analysis for sanitary registration procedures and subsequent modifications to registration. This measure will not apply to the following foods and beverages:
- Foods and beverages classified as risk type A
- Foods that claim health and nutritional properties
- Energy drinks
- Dietary preparations
- Foods for special medicinal purposes
- Foods for children under 36 months of age.
