Registration of agricultural distribution and/or representation establishment.
The registration of a Distribution Establishment and/or Agricultural Representation is the first step to import and distribute agrochemicals and fertilizers in El Salvador. The registration of a representative of the owner and a technical regent is required, the latter must be an agronomist, technician or agronomist engineer in El Salvador, which is a mandatory requirement.

Registration of fertilizers, agricultural and veterinary inputs and medicines and food for animal use.
It is the administrative, technical and legal process by which all applications for registration of pesticides, veterinary products, medicines and food for animal use, fertilizers or amendments are evaluated by the National Competent Authority prior to the registration of a product, technical grade active ingredient, formulated chemical pesticides, related substances, adjuvants and physical vehicles for agricultural use, microbiological pesticides for agricultural use, botanical pesticides for agricultural use.

Renewal of registrations
Once the registration is approved, a Certificate of Registration is issued, which is valid according to the type of product, as detailed below.
- Pesticides for domestic and professional use - valid for 5 years
- Veterinary products - valid for 5 years
- Animal feed - valid for 5 years
- Fertilizers and amendments - valid for 10 years
